Summer is in full swing in the Chicagoland area, and I have to say that I'm loving the weather we've been having this week!
Even though I'm not working this summer, I've been staying busy with extra Zumba classes. Tom isn't always the best influence on me in the food department, but he does kick my booty in the gym. And, since moving in together, I have added several classes to my weekly regime. I even wake up at 7:30 AM (!) on Saturdays to go with him to our Zumba Toning class before Zumba Fitness. This used to be the class I'd sleep through, but carpooling gives me the motivation to get out of bed!
I have to say, I never thought I'd be the kinda of person to plan my day around working out. I just never enjoyed it before. I'm so thankful for Zumba... I can't say that enough! My only concern now is that showering seems like such a waste of time because I just get up in the morning and sweat all over again! Haha!
Tom also started Aqua Zumba this summer and we have class three times a week. I love it! It's nice that I don't get super sweaty since my body is cooler in the pool, and I can really feel the water resistance. Poor Tom gets super drenched, though, because he has to instruct from the deck so we can see his feet. I have to admit that it's kinda entertaining to watch the beads of sweat drip from his body.
If you haven't yet tried Aqua Zumba, I highly recommend giving it a try. Especially for those who need a lower impact workout. I have a bad left knee, but it hasn't bothered me at all in the pool. Here's a video so you can get an idea of what to expect, featuring the fabulous Kelly Bullard:
