Silver Linings

Before I do this, I feel the need to say that as much as I didn't want to go back to work after a blissful winter break, it's been really good to see my students again. I guess I really did miss them!

OK... now that that's been said, I just need to vent for a second about my evening...

Dark Cloud #1?
I received a text and email from Chase tonight asking me if I pre-authorized a charge for a "dating/escort service" today. Um.. no.

Silver Lining?
Fraud Protection declined the charge because the address did not match and notified me within one minute of the attempt. New cards are in transit and should arrive on Saturday. Grateful for that catch!

Something is wrong with our Satellite Dish. There is an annoying error message instead of picture/sound on all of the TVs in our house. Somehow, this is travesty is only impacting the BEST channels (Bravo, E!, MTV, VH1, some movie channels). It's like the DirecTV gods are plotting against me!

When I called tonight to troubleshoot, they informed me that it needs to be a service call, and their first available appointment isn't until the 15th. Do you KNOW how many shows I will miss between now and then?! I mean... if I don't watch the Housewives, they may cease to exist!!

My dad's solution was for me to find better shows... this suggestion does not compute.

And.. the timing? Not so great. Its frigid outside, which makes me want to snuggle up with my boo and watch TV. And now our credit cards are invalid, so we can't even go spend money anywhere... not that we have any to spend anyway.

Silver Lining?
I guess I won't be staying up too late watching my recorded shows on for the next week-ish, which means I should be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for school.

Also... reruns of my shows are plentiful. Thank the Good Lord!

  1. I would go INSANE without my reality TV....you KNOW this! Actually, I haven't watched TV since Saturday, but the DVR is on steady recording. I'm on book two of the Divergent series. I 've been staying up way too late every night to read. Suprisingly...I haven't been a grouch in the mornings...this could be because I've taken a NAP every single day after school. Glad Chase caught the dating/escorting stuff. I'm still chuckling....

  2. Great positive attitude! I've been working on the same thing. We've had unnaturally cold weather, for SC :-) and our students received a 2-hour delay. We didn't. My silver lining was that I got aaaalllll the work that I didn't do over Christmas break done!

I understand what you mean about your TV shows. Try the internet! Many of the networks have episodes of their show online.

    Have a great weekend!
