Tried it Tuesday: OverDrive

Technically, this is my second post today, but I'm allowing it because the first post was scheduled AND I learned something new today that makes me super excited.

The LMC aide in my building taught me about the app OverDrive. My district recently started using this app (which is used by public libraries all over, I'm told) to share e-books and audio books.

If you know my love of Audible, you will appreciate how giddy this makes me because I can sign in with my school account and get all these books for FREE!!!

I've used my mom's Audible account for years, and I'm pretty good about convincing her to download books I want to read. Except that I have this affinity for young adult novels, and she doesn't like "wasting" her credits on them. I check out some YA books from the school library, but there are so many more I want to read. I will admit that I have been really bad about reading books at home in the past year. It just always seems like there are more pressing things to do.

I'm super excited that I can now listen to my YA books in the car on my way to/from work. Commuting just got way less annoying!

  1. Our Public Library uses Overdrive too. You can "rent" books to your Kindle. My mom and I share a Kindle account. Since she is in California, she can check them out from her library which just happens to be connected to a middle school...who has tons of YA books! Score!! My Nitty likes when I load Audible books when I visit her in Georgia. She likes listening to Nicholas Sparks...lol!
